Deep Vein Thrombosis (Clotting)

D.V.T. is a vein problem which happens due to: stagnation of blood for prolonged period of time or sluggish circulation.

Seen more often in:

  • Bed ridden patients
  • Patients who undergo prolonged surgeries
  • Patients with prolonged limbs immobilization (in cast after injuries)
  • Patients with familial tendency to form clots
  • Complication of certain procedures
  • Air travel for long hours without motion
